Job Description

Create and Maintain Documentation:
Write and update user guides, reference pages, examples, tutorials, and other documentation materials.
Ensure consistency and accuracy across all documentation.
Understand and Translate Technical Information:
Work closely with physicists, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, software engineers, developers, and product managers to understand complex technical concepts.
Translate technical information into clear, concise, and user-friendly language for a diverse audience.
Test software functionality to ensure that documentation accurately reflects product behavior.
Improve Documentation Quality:
Follow style guides and documentation standards.
Review and edit documentation for accuracy, clarity, and completeness.
Gather and incorporate user feedback to improve documentation.
Manage Documentation Projects:
Plan and prioritize documentation tasks.
Meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Work in a collaborative team environment.

Required Skills & Experience

Excellent Writing and Communication Skills:
Ability to write clearly, concisely, and accurately.
Strong editing and proofreading skills.
Ability to explain complex technical concepts in a simple and understandable way.
Technical Proficiency:
Understanding of programming concepts and software development.
Familiarity with highly technical engineering systems (or a strong willingness to learn).
Ability to learn and use new software tools and technologies.
Attention to Detail:
Ability to identify and correct errors in documentation.
Ability to maintain consistency in style and formatting.
Project Management Skills:
Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks.
Ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to work well in a team environment.
Education:
A bachelor's degree in technical communication, English, computer science, engineering, or a related field is typically required.
Experience with single source authoring tools is very helpful.
