Job Description

This Systems Engineer is responsible for configuring, supporting, and continuously improving the SimTools environment, with a strong emphasis on system stability, security, automation, and monitoring across cloud and network infrastructure. This role ensures the platform operates reliably, securely, and efficiently while supporting business and operational needs.

Key Responsibilities
• Administer and maintain SimTools configuration settings to ensure high availability, optimal performance, and operational stability.
• Design, develop, and maintain automation and utility solutions to monitor system health, generate alerts, and enable proactive issue detection and resolution.
• Manage user accounts and access controls, including provisioning and deprovisioning, role-based access control (RBAC), periodic access reviews, and audit support.
• Implement and maintain SimTools usage and license reporting to provide visibility into utilization, support budget forecasting, and enable data-driven business justification.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute application and system upgrades, including validation, testing, and rollback planning to minimize operational risk.
• Troubleshoot incidents, conduct root-cause analysis, and coordinate resolution efforts with internal and partner teams to ensure timely remediation.

Required Skills & Experience

• Working knowledge of Azure cloud infrastructure and operations, including core networking concepts.
• Experience operating within Nexus environments.
• Strong understanding of cloud networking infrastructure and connectivity troubleshooting.
• Working knowledge of Mobility Core concepts and dependencies.
• Proficiency in Python and automation tools or scripting to streamline operations, monitoring, and maintenance tasks.
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including routing principles.
