Job Description:
This role is a classic Supplier Quality Engineer position focused primarily on sustaining quality and problem resolution. The Supplier Quality Engineer works closely with the Operations Quality team to review supplier-related non-conformities identified during receiving inspections and manufacturing.
The role partners directly with suppliers to evaluate issues, drive root cause analysis, implement corrective actions, and improve supplier quality. This position owns supplier communication and ensures issues remain open until fully resolved through SCARs.
Secondarily, this role supports supplier qualification activities for new or redesigned components through APQP/PPAP processes as needed.
Key Responsibilities

Review and process supplier-related non-conformities identified during receiving and in-factory inspections
Work directly with suppliers to evaluate issues, drive containment, correction, root cause, and preventive actions
Initiate and manage SCARs for supplier-caused quality issues and ensure timely closure
Communicate supplier progress and resolution status to internal teams
Partner with MRB and Operations Quality to review and process quality notifications
Support supplier qualification and part development activities following APQP / PPAP
Guide suppliers on required quality deliverables including process flows, PFMEA, and control plans
Use statistical techniques to support process capability and validation activities (IQ/OQ/PQ)


Compensation
$45/hr – $47.50/hr
Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and education.

Required Skills & Experience

Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Science, Supply Chain Management, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or equivalent
-4+ years of experience in Supplier Quality, Quality Engineering, or Process Engineering (mid-level)
-Strong problem-solving experience supporting supplier -non-conformities
-Experience working directly with suppliers to resolve quality issues
-Experience with SCAR (Supplier Corrective Action Reports)
-Experience reviewing non-conformities identified during receiving inspections and manufacturing
-Hands-on experience with root cause analysis tools (8D, RCA, Fishbone)
-Comfortable being on the manufacturing floor and warehouse as needed (warehouse ~7 miles from factory)
-Experience working cross-functionally with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain
-Experience working with SAP
-Strong written and verbal communication skills
