Job Description

A large local utility client is seeking a Senior IT Project Manager to join their team. This person will be supporting two projects within the GIS Transformation program portfolio (Pre-construction and Tensing Replacement). The IT Project Manager oversees the planning, execution, and delivery of medium to large-scale technology projects within a utility environment, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, timelines, and budgets. This role coordinates cross-functional teams, including IT staff and internal stakeholders, to define project requirements, assess feasibility, and manage implementation processes such as resource allocation, vendor management, risk mitigation, testing, documentation, and training. The manager ensures effective communication and change management across the organization, promotes a culture of safety and ethical conduct, and adheres to regulatory compliance standards. Proficiency in project management tools, strong leadership, and the ability to coach team members are essential, along with experience managing project scope, schedules, financials, and vendor relationships throughout the full project lifecycle.

Required Skills & Experience

· 6+ years of IT project or program management experience
○ Strong familiarity with PM software, including MS Project
· GIS project background/ exposure
· Experience establishing strong relationships with stakeholders and delivering on their asks
· Background managing IT scope, schedule, budget, and communication
· Strong Financial acumen, including budget creation and management, accrual, and forecasting experience
Excellent written and verbal communication, as well as strong leadership skills

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

· Undergraduate degree
· Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM).
· Project Management Professional (PMP).
· Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Certification.
· Six Sigma Certification.
Experience with Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) ESRI or SmallWorld
