Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Tax Accountant to support corporate tax compliance, reporting, and planning across federal, state, and local jurisdictions. This role is responsible for preparing and reviewing tax filings, supporting tax provision processes, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements in a SOX-controlled environment.
This is a hands-on individual contributor role with no direct people management, ideal for someone with strong technical tax expertise who enjoys owning end-to-end tax processes and partnering cross-functionally.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns, ensuring timely and accurate filings
• Support tax provision calculations (monthly/quarterly) and related financial reporting
• Maintain tax-related general ledger activity, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals
• Ensure compliance with SOX controls and regulatory requirements (SEC, FERC, etc.)
• Research and interpret tax laws and accounting treatment for business activities
• Partner with external auditors and tax authorities to support audits and inquiries
• Assist with tax forecasting (ETR, cash taxes) and long-term financial planning
• Support tax planning initiatives and identify opportunities to improve tax efficiency
Maintain documentation and support internal controls and process improvements

Required Skills & Experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
• 5+ years of relevant tax experience and solid knowledge of GAAP
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
Experience with SAP, RIA checkpoint, RIA One Source, Power plan Provision, and Power Tax
