Job Description

An employer is looking for a Sr. Program Manager to join their PMO team. This team supports an IT Operations organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong project management background but can support scrum master environment. This person will need to be flexible in working with different methodologies, because the teams are in different stages of the Agile transformation. This person should have experience with the software development life cycle, facilitating scrum events (scrum retros, organizing sprint refinement, backlog refinement/management, etc.) as well as working with internal work streams, identifying project timelines, and assessing risks. This person should have strong communication to work with various teams and have the ability to work with demanding leadership/architects, and have the ability to collaborate and negotiate.

Responsibilities:
- Develop program scopes and objectives, partnering with internal architects, dev leads and other stakeholders.
- Lead several workstreams from requirement identification to deployment.
- Coordinate internal resources working in scrum of scrum environments for delivering IT to IT initiatives.
- Establish LOE, timeline and E2E project plan
- Coordinate sprints, retros, and daily standups
- Work with Product Owners to manage program backlog and prioritization
- Identify and manage risks
- Monitoring progress across different workstreams
- Communicate changes across different workstreams
- Facilitate daily standup or scrum of scrum events
- Report project progress/outcomes to ensure transparency across different workstreams

Required Skills & Experience

4-7 years of project management experience in Software Development-type work implementing large/complex functionalities
Experienced working in mixed methodologies / a Scrumban environment.
Extensive knowledge of IT concepts, strategies, methodologies, architecture and technical standards. Specifically, understanding concept of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Architecture and governance within an enterprise.
Solid understanding of Project Management Framework and Scrum / Scaled Agile framework
SDLC Project Management delivery
Agile product delivery mindset
Scope/program backlog management
Schedule management
- Ability to produce Program board with feature delivery, dependencies and milestones.
- Ability to manage flow of work using Program Kanban (tracking based on SDLC 7 phases) within each workstream.
Stakeholder management
Program risk management
Solid progress and metrics reporting
Experience with Jira and Confluence (experience reporting in Jira - burn down charts, velocity, etc.)
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Effectively and eloquently communicate with senior leadership level as well as with technical teams.
Strong collaboration skills working with cross-functional business and technical teams
Strong ability to effectively hold other people accountable on delivering the work on time (persuasive/strong influencing skills)
Strong business acumen
PMP and/or SAFe certification
JIRA Software and Confluence experience
