Job Description

We’re looking for a Python Developer to help build a mission‑critical, push‑button automated failover platform supporting highly visible production applications. This is a hands‑on, high‑ownership role focused on designing, building, deploying, and supporting automation and a web app that enables seamless application failovers with Python development skills and strong Kubernetes experience.
This role is ideal for a strong end‑to‑end developer who thrives in fast‑moving environments and delivers independently with minimal oversight to work confidently across the full lifecycle of the application development and deployment.

Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and deploy automated failover workflows using Python (Ansible experience helpful)
- Develop and support a web application for triggering and monitoring automation
- Build and deploy services in Kubernetes, with deep hands‑on platform knowledge
- Create APIs and integrations to orchestrate failover actions
- Own features end‑to‑end: design, development, testing, deployment, and support
- Collaborate with architects, platform experts, and application teams
- Ensure reliability, accuracy, and auditability of automation outputs.

Experience with CI/CD, application lifecycles, and production systems
Ability to work independently, take ownership, and deliver without step‑by‑step direction
Experience integrating with APIs, automation platforms, or infrastructure tooling
Strong problem‑solving skills and a developer‑first mindset
A candidate would not be a fit if they only have ops or configuration experience.
Must be able to work with PST overlap from 8-11am PST.

Experience with distributed systems, failover, or high‑availability architectures
Exposure to Ansible, GitLab CI, or cloud platforms
Familiarity with secrets management (Vault, CyberArk)
Cloud‑native and containerized application design experience
Experience with AI tools
