Job Description

This role is responsible for driving and coordinating large-scale network device OS upgrades across a highly complex environment. The work involves managing upgrade planning, validation, tracking, and execution for tens of thousands of devices spanning multiple vendors, models, and operating system versions. This individual serves as the central driver ensuring that upgrades move from request through lab validation, trials, and remote deployment in a controlled, trackable, and repeatable way.

Key Responsibilities
• Drive end-to-end coordination of operating system upgrades across thousands of production and lab devices, spanning numerous vendors and device models
• Own tracking and visibility of device code versions, upgrade status, lab validation results, and trial outcomes prior to production rollout
• Coordinate lab validation and required trial cycles before upgrades are approved for deployment outside of the lab environment
• Manage and track remote upgrade activities, whether initiated by internal teams or external vendors
• Act as the primary point of accountability for upgrade requests coming from multiple stakeholders with competing priorities
• Partner closely with engineering, automation, security, and vendor teams to translate upgrade requirements into executable plans
• Proactively follow up with stakeholders to unblock dependencies and ensure timely completion of upgrade activities
• Stand up and refine repeatable processes for upgrade tracking and reporting in an environment where this work has historically been handled reactively
• Work closely with data-focused team members who gather raw device and upgrade data, providing direction, prioritization, and ownership to drive execution
• Provide clear status updates and reporting on upgrade progress, risks, and readiness for broader deployment
