Job Description
Day to Day:
Performs mechanical testing on additively manufactured metal specimens, including tensile, fatigue, and density testing, to validate material performance. They prepare samples, execute tests in line with aerospace standards, and capture and analyze results to identify any defects or inconsistencies. The role also involves maintaining lab equipment and collaborating with engineering and quality teams to support material validation and process improvement in a regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct tensile, fatigue, density, and other material tests on metals/additive parts
• Set up, calibrate, and operate lab testing equipment
• Prepare specimens to meet test specs and engineering standards
• Capture, document, and report test data accurately
• Identify defects, inconsistencies, or performance issues during testing
• Support engineers with analysis and material validation efforts
Maintain lab safety, cleanliness, and compliance procedures

Required Skills & Experience
Must Haves:
• 5+ years of hands-on metals/material testing experience
• Direct experience with fatigue and tensile testing
• Experience performing density and moisture content testing
Background working with powder metals / material characterization
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Plusses:
• Experience with additive manufacturing (AM) or testing AM parts
• Background in an aerospace or highly regulated lab environment
Familiarity with ASTM/ISO testing standards
