Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a motivated engineer to join an infrastructure team as a production-focused contributor on project-based work. The ideal candidate is eager to grow both personally and professionally, taking ownership of portions of projects, demonstrating resourcefulness, and actively incorporating feedback. Day-to-day work will be 95% design within Civil3D, with the number of focused projects varying based on size, ranging from one to more than ten. Projects are based in several markets, including federal, public, and private clientele. Attention to detail and the ability to shift tasks as needed are crucial due to the variety in design work and project demands. This hybrid role requires onsite presence on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. The engineer will work in stand-alone and multi-discipline design teams, supervised by senior engineers and project managers, performing various civil engineering tasks on projects of small to medium scope, ensuring compliance with zoning ordinances, standards, and specifications. Projects may include site design for buildings or subdivisions, infrastructure projects, and business development activities such as responding to Requests for Proposals (RFPs). The role involves collaborating with and taking direction from Senior Engineers, Project Managers, and Design Managers, as well as assisting with document preparation and managing tasks related to the bidding process.

Required Skills & Experience

* A degree / graduation from an ABET -accredited 4-, 5-, or 6-year engineering program in one of the following disciplines: Civil Engineering, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Civil, Environmental and Infrastructure Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, General Engineering
* 2-4 years of experience in a professional engineering environment

* Site design experience (grading and layout, sediment control, land development)

* Possesses Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification / Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam

* CAD / Civil 3D Software experience

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

* Knowledge of stormwater / utilities / water waste

* Experience in the Federal Sector, particularly Department of Defense (DoD) work

* Knowledge of Unified Facility Criteria (UFC's)
