Job Description
Insight Global is supporting an AEC client in their search for a Senior Energy Modeling Engineer to support commercial and institutional building projects. This role focuses on whole‑building energy modeling and performance analysis to help design teams improve efficiency and meet energy and sustainability goals.
In this role, you’ll develop and run energy models using tools such as HAP, eQuest, EnergyPro, Cove, or similar software, analyzing results to evaluate system performance, energy use, and cost impacts. You’ll perform comparative modeling to assess HVAC systems, envelope strategies, and efficiency options, and prepare clear reports that document assumptions, methods, and findings.
You’ll work closely with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineers throughout the design process, translating modeling results into practical design recommendations. You’ll support energy code compliance efforts (IECC, ASHRAE 90.1) and assist project managers with communicating energy performance outcomes to clients.
The role also supports sustainability initiatives, including LEED energy modeling credits, Green Globes, and other high‑performance building programs, ensuring documentation is accurate and well‑coordinated across project teams.
