Job Description
Insight Global Is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer for one of our AEC clients. This individual will serve as an engineer of Record and provide technical leadership for all aspects of electrical engineering design, including conceptual studies, program requirements, detailed design analyses, engineering calculations, equipment selection and layout, and electrical system selection and configuration.
Lead client engagements to define, validate, and refine project scope, objectives, and technical requirements, serving as a trusted technical advisor throughout the project lifecycle.
Manage electrical projects and/or the electrical scope of multi‑disciplinary projects in close coordination with project managers, ensuring adherence to budgets, contract fees, schedules, and client objectives.
Direct and coordinate all aspects of electrical design across multi‑disciplinary teams, ensuring seamless integration with architectural, mechanical, structural, and other engineering disciplines.
Ensure compliance with firm quality control standards, applicable codes, and regulatory requirements; perform and oversee quality control reviews for electrical designs prepared by other engineers and designers.
Oversee the preparation of complete and accurate electrical deliverables, including programming documents, schematic designs, design development packages, and construction documents, and sign and seal drawings as required.
Provide senior‑level electrical support during the bidding and procurement phase, including preparation of addenda and amendments, responding to bidder inquiries, and supporting bid reviews and tabulations.
Lead and oversee electrical construction phase services, including representing the firm during site visits, responding to RFIs, reviewing and approving shop drawings and submittals, and reviewing as‑built documentation.
Prepare commissioning proposals (scope and fee), commissioning plans, and final commissioning reports, and provide technical oversight of the commissioning process.
Conduct project and system reviews as part of commissioning to verify compliance with design intent and performance requirements.
Prepare and witness Prefunctional Checks (PCs) and
Functional Performance Tests (FPTs), ensuring systems are installed, tested, and operating in accordance with project requirements.
Oversee the preparation of Operation and Maintenance
Support Information (OMSI) manuals to support long‑term system operation and maintenance.

Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
Active Professional Engineer (PE) license (required).
Working knowledge of Autodesk Revit.
Proven design and construction administration experience across K‑12, office, commercial, retail, data center, or municipal/government projects.
Demonstrated strong leadership and technical oversight capabilities.

Experience mentoring Jr. engineers
Enjoy working with /collaborating with architects
High interest in lighting calculations
