Job Description

The Director of Client Delivery is accountable for the end-to-end execution, performance, and overall health of the company’s federal contract portfolio across DoD and civilian agencies. This role serves as the senior delivery executive for the firm, owning delivery outcomes from contract award through execution and closeout, while ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction, strong CPARS performance, and scalable operational rigor.

The Director oversees all Project Managers and Program Managers, establishes and enforces disciplined delivery standards, serves as the senior escalation authority for delivery, contractual, personnel, and performance issues, and represents the firm with credibility and authority to government stakeholders. This role partners closely with executive leadership to ensure delivery excellence directly supports organizational growth, recompetes, and expansion within existing agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

Portfolio Delivery Ownership
• Own delivery performance across all active federal contracts, ensuring scope, schedule, quality, staffing, and performance commitments are consistently met or exceeded.
• Maintain executive-level visibility into portfolio health, including risks, issues, financial performance, staffing stability, and customer sentiment.

Contract Execution & Compliance
• Ensure contracts are executed in accordance with contract terms, labor categories, pricing structures, and performance requirements across FFP, T&M, and Cost-Plus environments.
• Partner with contracts leadership to manage modifications, option exercises, scope changes, and performance-related discussions with government stakeholders.

Customer Relationship Management & CPARS Excellence
• Act as a senior client-facing leader, engaging directly with CORs, COs, and government program leadership.
• Proactively manage performance to support Excellent or Very Good CPARS outcomes.

People Leadership & Accountability
• Directly manage Project Managers and Program Managers; set clear expectations, performance goals, and accountability standards.
• Recruit, develop, coach, and retain high-performing delivery leaders; address performance issues decisively when expectations are not met.

Operational Excellence, Governance & Quality Management
• Ensure delivery execution aligns with the organization’s established quality management, process maturity, and information protection frameworks, including CMMI and ISO standards.
• Lead consistent application of certified processes across all programs, reinforcing disciplined planning, execution, measurement, and continuous improvement.

Organic Growth & Recompete Support
• Support organic growth within existing agencies by identifying expansion opportunities and delivery-driven value.
• Contribute delivery insights to proposals, including staffing strategies, management approaches, transition plans, and risk mitigation.

Executive & Cross-Functional Leadership
• Provide regular delivery briefings to executive leadership highlighting risks, trends, and recommended actions.
• Serve as the executive delegate for delivery matters, representing the firm with professionalism and sound judgment.

Required Skills & Experience

• 10+ years of progressive experience leading federal project and program delivery.
• Demonstrated success overseeing multiple concurrent federal contracts.
• Strong expertise in DoD and civilian agency environments.
• Deep understanding of FFP, T&M, and Cost-Plus contract execution.
• Executive presence and strong client-facing communication skills.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• PMP, PgMP, or equivalent certification.
• Experience operating within CMMI and ISO-aligned delivery organizations.
• Familiarity with federal information protection and compliance environments, including CMMC.
