Job Description
Position Summary
The Construction Superintendent is responsible for the day to day execution of construction activities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in strict accordance with contract documents. This role requires deep experience leading complex, vertical hospital construction projects, coordinating multiple trades in active healthcare environments, and maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
• Plan, schedule, and oversee all on site construction activities to meet project milestones and overall completion dates.
• Coordinate, supervise, and monitor subcontractor performance to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and safety standards.
• Read, interpret, and enforce construction documents, directing subcontractors on proper execution of work.
• Lead daily site operations, including logistics, manpower coordination, sequencing, and quality control.
• Maintain a safe jobsite and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and site specific safety requirements.
• Participate in design reviews and constructability discussions to support contractual objectives.
• Develop agendas and lead weekly progress meetings, pre construction meetings, and post job conferences.
• Track schedule impacts, identify risks, and communicate deviations or corrective actions to project leadership and clients.
• Assist the Project Manager / Site Manager with project budgets, cost tracking, and financial reporting.
• Support progress payment requirements, quantity tracking, and administration of complex contract phases.
• Maintain professional, proactive customer relationships through consistent communication.
• Stay current on government regulations and commercial construction trends, ensuring compliance with:
o Davis Bacon Act
o Service Contract Act
o Other applicable federal regulations
• Perform administrative and reporting tasks using standard construction software and office tools.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience
• Minimum of 5 years serving as a Superintendent on a complex, vertical hospital construction project
o Experience working in active healthcare environments
• Associate’s degree in a related field (or equivalent experience)
• 10+ years of relevant construction experience
• 5+ years of supervisory experience
• Must pass the USACE CQM for Contractors course
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• ASHE Healthcare Construction Certification (HCC)
• Experience with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and government contracting
