Position Overview
The Construction Superintendent is responsible for the daily operations of construction projects, from planning activities to overseeing completion. This role ensures strict adherence to schedules, coordinates subcontractor performance, maintains compliance with contract documents, enforces safety standards, and delivers superior quality construction.
Primary Responsibilities
1. Schedule construction activities and manage overall project timelines in accordance with project plans and specifications. Communicate deviations to customers and subcontractors.
2. Interpret construction drawings and direct subcontractors for accurate execution.
3. Plan, direct, and budget for assigned projects, including challenging construction and project management tasks.
4. Administer project management functions such as fund status reporting, billing reviews, and contractual submittals.
5. Assist with design reviews and provide guidance to subcontractors, support staff, and trades.
6. Monitor requirements for progress payments, government-furnished property, and contract phases.
7. Develop agendas for weekly, pre-job, and post-job conferences.
8. Create visual presentations and assist with desktop publishing for project documentation.
9. Prepare cost accounting worksheets by analyzing blueprints and consulting with engineering staff.
10. Support Site Manager/Project Manager with project budgets.
11. Ensure compliance with federal regulations (Service Contract Act, Davis-Bacon Act) and monitor commercial trends.
12. Maintain strong customer relationships through professional communication.
13. Utilize basic computer software for scheduling, reporting, and email.
14. Maintain and update project schedules.
15. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience
• Required:
o Associate’s degree in a related field
o 10+ years of relevant construction experience
o 5+ years of supervisory experience
o Experience with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, government contracting, and healthcare facility construction (medical repairs and renewal)
o Completion of Corps of Engineers CQM class for contractors
• Advanced management and customer relations skills
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Project)
• Preferred experience with P6 (Oracle) and ProCore
• High attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
