Job Description

Marine Electrician installs, repairs, and maintains electrical systems aboard ships and in shipyard facilities, following blueprints and safety standards. Responsibilities include analyzing circuits and diagrams, connecting power-supply circuits to electronic equipment, installing conduit and wiring, soldering connections, and constructing instrument panels. The role requires knowledge of electrical theory, codes, and equipment operation, as well as compliance with OSHA safety procedures. Marine Electricians also test electrical characteristics, troubleshoot issues, and report hazardous conditions to supervisors. Some travel around the local shipyards is required.
Work hours are 6:30am-3:30pm Monday-Friday

Required Skills & Experience

•Education Minimum: High School Diploma/GED
•Minimum Relevant Experience: 5+ years
•Must have reliable transportation.
•Must be eligible to obtain DBIDs.
•Must have basic hand tools applicable to your trade with bag or tote.
•Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, tech manuals and work specifications for various types of machinery and/or electrical systems.
•Must be able to wear applicable PPE (Hard hat, safety goggles, gloves, steel toes shoes, ear protection)
•Basic computer skills preferred

•Preferred Minimum: Trade School, Apprenticeship, or Higher Education
