Job Description

Insight Global is looking for an experienced fiber optic maintenance technician to support our client in Norfolk, VA. This candidate will have extensive experience assembling cable assemblies, has a basic understanding of operating testing equipment, documenting testing results, and has a detailed eye for identifying deviations or defects in the cable. This candidate will be hands-on through the complete lifecycle of the assembly, testing, reporting, collaboration, and delivery of the finished product. This candidate will be on-site, no travel is required, working Monday through Friday, 6 am-2:30 pm. The salary is based on experience and ranges between $28 - $35/hr.

Required Skills & Experience

6+ years of experience
Experience terminating and fabricating fiber optic cables.
Hands-on experience assembling cable assemblies, specifically molded or complex cable assemblies.
Ability to prepare test specimens, operate test equipment, and document results, including identifying deviations or defects.
Ability to read and interpret cable assembly drawings, schematics, and build documentation.
Knowledgeable following standardized work instructions for cable builds.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

10+ years of experience
Former ET in the Navy
Background in industrial fiber optic testing
