Job Description

Overview:
Insight Global’s client is seeking a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) with strong aggregate or mining experience to serve as the company’s sole Industrial Hygiene subject matter expert. This is a manager-level, individual contributor role responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance and advancing industrial hygiene practices across a multi-site operation.

The Industrial Hygienist will function as a consultative compliance partner, working closely with operations, site leadership, and corporate teams to identify, assess, and control occupational health risks. This role supports 27 sites across Virginia through Georgia, including mining and distribution operations, and plays a critical role in silica exposure monitoring, OSHA/MSHA compliance, medical surveillance programs, and noise exposure management.

Key Responsibilities:

Serve as the company’s Industrial Hygiene authority, ensuring compliance with OSHA and MSHA regulations through a collaborative, consultative approach.
Lead and manage exposure monitoring programs, including:
Respirable crystalline silica
Noise monitoring
Other occupational health hazards as applicable
Oversee medical surveillance and monitoring programs, ensuring accurate tracking, documentation, and regulatory compliance for at-risk associates.
Partner with operations, site leadership, regional leadership, safety, and environmental teams to evaluate risks and implement effective controls.
Provide technical guidance and recommendations to:
Engineering and Operational Support
Project Managers
Plant Managers, Foremen, and Regional Leaders
Corporate functions including HR, Finance, IT, and Executive Leadership
Participate in site visits, audits, and morning safety meetings (which may begin as early as 6:00 AM).
Support the growth and maturity of the industrial hygiene function, with potential to build a team in the future as the program expands.

Required Skills & Experience

Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) – required
Demonstrated experience managing and conducting:
- Silica exposure monitoring
- OSHA & MSHA compliance programs
- Noise exposure assessments
Experience managing medical monitoring/surveillance programs.
Willingness to relocate to the Richmond, VA area if not local (relocation assistance available).
Comfortable working independently as the sole IH, while collaborating cross-functionally.
