Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a nuclear engineer to support the safety analysis and reload licensing for commercial nuclear power plants in the United States. The ideal candidate will possess a degree in nuclear engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, or related field. The ideal candidate will also possess 5-8+ years of related safety analysis experience supporting the reload licensing process for commercial nuclear power plants. This position is fully remote but would be preferred to be located in Lynchburg, VA.

Key Responsibilities:
• Support the reload licensing process for commercial nuclear power plants.
• Execute complex safety analyses using RELAP and other transient modeling tools.
• Develop and exercise detailed computer models to simulate reactor behavior under various conditions.
• Generate and summarize technical reports (200+ documents per cycle) to support downstream licensing teams
• Contribute to licensing paperwork that enables reactor reload and refueling operations.

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nuclear Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related ABET-accredited program.
• 8+ years of experience with RELAP or similar transient analysis tools.
• Strong background in computational modeling and safety analysis.
• Ability to interpret and communicate complex simulation results effectively.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Experience with licensing processes for commercial nuclear reactors.
• Familiarity with advanced safety analysis techniques and regulatory compliance.
• Strong documentation and reporting skills.
