Job Description

A client of Insight Global seeks a Full Stack Software Developer that will play a key role in designing and developing JAVA APIs using AWS native applications for Medicare beneficiaries. They will be working as part of an agile team, this position will develop front and back-end application components and APIs to support development and enhancement of cloud-based solutions, and support integration testing to validate the Medicare claims processing workflow. The successful candidate will be a strong collaborator to deliver a best-in-class customer experience. Responsibilities include:
Effectively collaborate as part of an agile team to deliver software components, participating in sprint ceremonies such as backlog refinement, sprint planning, daily stand up, retrospectives, etc.
Provide expertise and direction in the development, testing, and enhancements of AWS-based Web applications and APIs
Provide requirements analysis, software design, development, coding, testing, and debugging of custom solutions
Enable automated deployments to AWS through the creation and use of CI/CD Pipeline
Document solutions and specifications in Confluence, create and complete user stories via Jira, and collaborate with team members and stakeholders via Slack.
Collaborate with Operations and Site Reliability Engineering team to leverage available platforms, infrastructure as code templates, and continuously optimize application performance
Create front end components using Java, Java Scripts, Springboot, React or similar languages
Assist with the development of database entities like Amazon RDS, DynamoDB, and Flyway
Perform peer reviews of application code
All other tasks as assigned

Required Skills & Experience

BS or advanced degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
5+ years developing software applications and APIs on AWS
5+ years Java full-stack development experience
5+ years of experience in designing, implementing and consuming CI/CD Pipelines using tools such as Github, Jenkins, Maven, Groovy, Ansible, SonarQube or similar toolsets
AWS Certified Developer - Associate or AWS Solution Architect (Associate Preferred)
Experience with program languages and technologies including Groovy, Python, Bash, Go, Markdown, XML, JSON, SQL, ReactJS, CSS, XHTML
Experience with AWS Database or DB tools such as Amazon RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, PostGreSQL and Flyway
Experience building, troubleshooting, and supporting enterprise applications while maintaining 24/7 availability

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience Jira and Confluence preferred
Healthcare IT experience preferred
