Job Description

We are hiring a Field Service Technician for our client in Hopewell, VA. The Field Service Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining equipment or systems to ensure optimal performance. This role involves troubleshooting technical issues, performing regular maintenance, and delivering exceptional customer service to ensure client satisfaction. This job is a hybrid position requiring 50-75% travel depending upon customer requests.
Responsibilities:
· Equipment Maintenance and Repair:
Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with industrial packaging equipment.
Perform routine maintenance to ensure equipment operates efficiently and meets safety standards.
Replace or repair defective parts, components, or systems as needed.
· Technical Support:
Respond to service requests promptly, either on-site or remotely.
Provide clear and accurate technical advice to clients or team members.
· Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain detailed records of work performed, including service logs, repair reports, and parts used.
Provide feedback on recurring issues and suggest process improvements.
· Customer Service:
Communicate effectively with clients to explain service procedures and timelines.
Educate customers on proper equipment usage and preventative maintenance tips.
· Compliance and Safety:
Follow all safety protocols and company guidelines during service operations.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, manufacturer specifications, and local regulations.
· Team Collaboration:
Collaborate with other technicians or departments to resolve complex issues.
Assist in training junior technicians or apprentices, if applicable.

Required Skills & Experience

· Education: High School Diploma or Technical Certification/Degree in a related field
· 2+ years of experience in equipment repair, maintenance, or a related technical role
· Mechanical and electrical aptitude required
· Proficiency with tools, diagnostic software, and electrical systems
· Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
· Ability to lift 35+ pounds, stand for extended periods, and work in various environments
· Comfortable working in confined spaces, heights, or outdoor conditions as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
· Certification in electrical systems
· Familiarity with PLC's, relays, mechanical systems
Previous experience as a service technician in a related field
