Job Description
As a Cloud Windows Server Administrator, you will support and maintain Windows-based systems operating within AWS GovCloud environments. You will install, configure, patch, and manage Windows Server (2019 and higher) while administering cloud-hosted workloads on Amazon EC2, including provisioning, scaling, and lifecycle management and utilizing various AWS cloud native toolsets to monitor and maintain the environment.
In this role, you will manage Active Directory environments, including Group Policy, DNS, and DoD CAC authentication, and support Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS) for secure access and Single Sign-On. You will leverage AWS services such as EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Lambda, and CloudFormation to support and optimize Windows infrastructure.
You will develop, maintain, and deploy automation through DevSecOps pipelines using PowerShell and AWS-native tools, including Infrastructure-as-Code solutions like CloudFormation, to improve operational efficiency. Responsibilities also include performing COTS application installations and upgrades, monitoring system performance, and implementing improvements to enhance system reliability, availability, and scalability.
Additional responsibilities include ensuring compliance with DISA STIG requirements, managing user and service accounts, and supporting remote access solutions such as Microsoft Remote Desktop Services. You will also support Windows-based web and application services (IIS), and integrations with Apache and database platforms such as Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle.
The role requires troubleshooting system and cloud infrastructure issues, managing storage solutions such as EBS and S3, maintaining system documentation, and providing technical support and guidance to customers and operations teams in a secure, AWS cloud environment.

Required Skills & Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 4 years of related experience.
• Ability to obtain Secret Security Clearance.
• Security+ certification or equivalent certification for DoD 8140 compliance is required.
• Experience managing and patching Windows Server operating systems (2019 or higher) in an AWS cloud environment.
• Working knowledge of AWS services such as EC2, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, and CloudFormation.
• Experience with AWS cloud native automation toolsets (CloudFormation, Lambda)
• Experience implementing DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
• Strong experience writing automation scripts and managing Windows systems using Microsoft PowerShell.
• Experience managing Active Directory, including Group Policy and DoD CAC and/or smartcard authentication.
• Experience in performing COTS package upgrades and software deployments.
• Experience with monitoring, logging, and operational support in cloud-based environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and system administration skills in distributed environments.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Experience managing AWS cloud systems and deployments, including Lambda and CloudFormation automation.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
• Experience administering Microsoft Remote Desktop Services and or Citrix in cloud environments.
• Knowledge of PKI certificate-based authentication and Single Sign-On solutions.
• Experience supporting web and application services including Apache HTTP Server and Apache Tomcat.
• Knowledge of DNS, DHCP and enterprise networking concepts within AWS.
• Experience supporting Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle Database environments.
• Experience with configuration management tools such as Jenkins, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or similar.
