An employer in San Diego is looking for a Security Engineer specializing in Wazuh to join their team. This individual will be pivotal in the transition to Wazuh open source, providing ongoing configuration and management of the SIEM tool. They will take ownership over monitoring security events and alerts through Wazuhs real-time telemetry analysis. This individual will help investigate and respond to alerts, ensuring timely incident resolution and mitigating threats effectively. They will utilize Wazuhs vulnerability detection capabilities to identify security weaknesses and provide recommendations for improving security posture. Additionally, this person will collaborate with the team to integrate XDR capabilities, enhancing proactive cyber-attack detection. 5-8 years in IT relevant role(s) with 3-5 years specifically in Cyber Security
Proficiency in Wazuh configuration, rule creation, and incident investigation.
Familiarity with XDR solutions (e.g., CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, Carbon Black).
Experience in vulnerability scanning, reporting, and incident response.
Strong background in responding to phishing attempts.
Strong O365 Experience, specifically within Security Center.
Great communication and documentation skills, both written and verbal.
Bachelor's or post graduate degree in a technical field
