Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a qualified UAV Technical SME in support of one of are large federal clients in Newport News, VA. This candidate will be supporting and be responsible for providing systems engineering, integration, and life cycle sustainment support for the acquisition, modification, and long-term maintenance of a fleet of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS), including Air Vehicles (AVs), Ground Control Stations (GCSs), and Ground Support Equipment (GSE). Their day to day will include but is not limited to:

Investigating and evaluating UAS technical design aspects, providing actionable recommendations in areas including:
1. Performance, weight and balance, and survivability
2. Operations, sustainment, and logistics
3. System and subsystem architecture, including configuration management
4. Sensor and payload integration, ensuring interoperability
5. Line-of-sight (LOS) and beyond-line-of-sight (BLOS) datalinks, navigation, communications, and avionics
6. User/operator control systems and interface design
Assisting the Program Manager by aligning stakeholder requirements, coordinating efforts, and synchronizing schedules across teams.
Leading the planning, execution, and post-test analysis for UAS testing activities to validate system performance and compliance.
Managing the collection, tracking, dissemination, and resolution of all technical data and airworthiness documentation.
Overseeing and track UAS modifications, repairs, and upgrades, ensuring effective logistics and lifecycle support.
Woringk closely with Government, Contractor, and OEM partners to ensure all systems meet defined technical and functional performance metrics.
Leading research into emerging technologies to enhance UAS implementation and sustainment strategies.
Identifying challenges and develop innovative solutions for UAS operations in austere and demanding environments.

Required Skills & Experience

16 years of experience working within the Aviation Industry
6-8 years of experience working with Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs)
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or STEM, 4+ years of experience in leu of degree (20 total
