Job Summary
Insight Global is seeking experienced Tool Makers to join a team in Hampton, VA. This is a hands‑on role supporting the fabrication, repair, and maintenance of tooling used in high‑precision manufacturing. Tool Makers will work in a fast‑paced, safety‑focused environment producing components for jet aircraft and industrial gas turbines.
Pay & Schedule
Starting pay: $28.68/hour
After 6 months: $31.86/hour
Shift premium: $1.00/hour for off shifts
Shifts available:
1st Shift: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
2nd Shift: Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
Training: 1st shift (7:00 AM – 3:00 PM)
Key Responsibilities
Set up and operate manual and CNC machines (mills, lathes, grinders)
Fabricate, repair, and modify molds, dies, jigs, fixtures, and tools
Read blueprints, sketches, and work instructions
Measure, inspect, and verify parts to tight tolerances
Perform layout work, machining, fitting, and assembly
Create or modify CAD models and support CAM programming
Record production and inspection data as required
Follow all safety, quality, and attendance policies

Required Skills & Experience
High school diploma or GED
Minimum 5 years of toolmaker and CNC programming experience
Ability to read blueprints and work to tight tolerances
Experience setting up and operating CNC and manual machines
Able to work all shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
CAD/CAM experience
CNC programming and setup
Mastercam Experience
Strong math and problem‑solving skills
Experience in manufacturing or regulated environments
