Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support a long-term federal law enforcement program. This individual will serve as a senior technical SME, supporting high-side Windows and Azure environments while playing a key role in the organization’s transition from on-prem infrastructure to Azure cloud solutions. The ideal candidate is highly hands-on, especially with PowerShell and Azure administration, and is comfortable operating in a secure, mission-critical environment. This role offers long-term stability, technical ownership, and the opportunity to mentor a growing engineering team while supporting systems critical to national security.
-Provide Tier 3 operational support for Windows servers and workstations
-Administer and maintain Windows Active Directory environments
-Manage Group Policy, security infrastructure, and compliance standards
-Support and enhance Azure cloud infrastructure
-Perform backend security configuration and policy enforcement in Azure
-Build, manage, and secure Azure virtual machines
-Implement and maintain backup and archival storage solutions
-Monitor systems using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights
-Support ongoing migration from on-prem environments to Azure
-Maintain technical documentation and system diagrams
-Collaborate with a small team of systems engineers (on-prem and Azure)

Required Skills & Experience
-Active Secret Clearance
-5–10+ years of Windows Systems Engineering experience
-Hands-on Azure administration experience (2–5+ years)
-Strong PowerShell scripting (must-have)
-Experience with Azure CLI
-Deep understanding of Azure networking
-Experience with Azure Policy and RBAC
-Experience securing Azure environments and reducing vulnerabilities
-Windows Active Directory administration (user accounts, GPOs, security)
-Server administration, backup solutions, and system performance tuning
-Experience supporting high-side systems only (no low-side)
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
-Azure certifications (AZ-104, AZ-305, etc.)
-Experience with M365 / Office 365 administration
-SCCM and McAfee ePO experience
-Experience with large-scale enterprise environments
-Prior DOJ, DEA, or federal law enforcement program experience
