Job Description
A client of Insight Global's is seeking a Data Integration Engineer who brings hands on healthcare interoperability experience and can also function as a technical lead. This individual will guide architecture and implementation of healthcare data pipelines while mentoring engineers and partnering with stakeholders in regulated, mission critical environments.
This role is ideal for a senior level engineer who enjoys leading by doing.

What You’ll Do
• Act as a technical lead for healthcare data integration initiatives.
• Design, build, and maintain secure, scalable FHIR and HL7 based integration pipelines.
• Lead integration of clinical, claims, and operational healthcare data.
• Define and enforce data standards, transformation logic, and validation rules.
• Collaborate with engineering, DevSecOps, product, and client stakeholders.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to architecture reviews and technical decisions.
• Operate within federal/government environments, following security and compliance standards.

Required Skills & Experience
• Strong background as a Data Integration Engineer / Data Engineer, 5+ years preferred with prior leadership experience as a lead or above
• Hands on healthcare data experience, including:
o FHIR (R4 preferred)
o HL7 (v2 and/or v3)
• Experience serving as a technical lead, senior engineer, or architect.
• Proficiency with APIs, ETL/data pipelines, and data transformation.
• Experience with cloud platforms and modern data ecosystems.
• Strong communication skills and comfort leading technical discussions.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Experience supporting federal or government healthcare programs.
• Active or prior government clearance (DHS, DoD, Secret, Public Trust, etc.).
• Familiarity with healthcare interoperability tooling (e.g., Mirth, HealthShare, IRIS).
• Experience mentoring or coaching engineers.
