Job Description

A client of Insight Global's is looking for a remote Platform System Adminstrator. This position involves contributing to a DoD-wide enterprise service capability aimed at implementing a comprehensive DevSecOps initiative. The role leverages industry best practices, open-source software like Kubernetes and containers, and commercial solutions to establish DevSecOps CI/CD pipelines at various classification levels.

The specific responsibilities include being part of a customer-facing team that encompasses Sales, Customer Success, Business Account Management, User Design, and IT Service Desk Support. The IT Service Desk team provides technical support for general IT administration, user identity management, and Tier 1/Tier 2 technical support. Additionally, the team supports all IT hardware and software systems used internally by the enterprise service staff.

Required Skills & Experience

- Minimum 6 years in system administration, technical customer service, and escalation handling.
- Proficiency in supporting and maintaining critical infrastructure, including VPN gateways, ArgoCD, SonarQube, Fortify, DNS backups, and cloud-based environments.
- Ability to resolve technical support issues (~100 tickets per month) and ensure optimal system functionality.
- Background in cloud-native tools, both commercial and government cloud environments, managing access provisioning, and hybrid cloud - AWS Gov Cloud.
- Comfort with LAN/WAN installations, troubleshooting, and maintaining enterprise-grade software and hardware systems.
- Experience in developing or improving documentation processes using platforms like Confluence, including KB articles.
- Experience with MDO and Party Bus access setup, application onboarding and support, and developing how-to guides for IT tasks.
- Superior communication skills, a positive attitude, adaptability, comfort in an agile team environment, technology and methodology agnostic, and enjoys coaching and teaching.
- Additional Requirements: No specific ticketing system, no on-call schedule, baseline off San Antonio time zone if not in the area, in-person cohort meetings 2-4 times per year with travel, and periodic trips lasting 2-3 days.
