Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Youth Counselor for a behavioral health organization that supports local youth within the community.

-Provide emotional, mental, and behavioral guidance to children and adolescents in various settings such as schools, juvenile justice systems, social service agencies, and private practice.
-Develop and implement intervention plans, offering counseling services, and working collaboratively with families and other professionals to foster a supportive environment.
-Conduct individual or group therapy sessions to help youth cope with challenges like substance abuse, family problems, stress, or self-esteem issues.
-Maintain confidentiality, monitor progress, and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
-Educate children about social issues like substance abuse and domestic violence, and motivate them to achieve academically and extramurally.
-Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other professionals to develop and implement treatment plans and intervention programs that support the young person's growth and development.

Required Skills & Experience

-2+ years of youth residential and supervisory/administrative
experience,
-QMHP (Qualified Mental Health Professional) or equivalent certification
-Background in social work or addiction counseling is highly desirable.
-Strong conflict management skills to effectively handle challenging situations with youth.
-Ability to educate and engage youth on important life skills and personal development topics.
-Excellent communication skills to foster positive relationships with youth, families, and colleagues.
