Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Secret Systems Security Engineer in Dahlgren, VA. This individual must have an active Secret Clearance (and interim Top Secret) and IAT Level II certification. This Engineer must also have 2+ years of experience in systems, network, or cybersecurity engineering and will focus on identifying vulnerabilities, strengthening system and network security, and supporting risk mitigation efforts across enterprise environments. This role is heavily focused on vulnerability assessments, security tool usage, and infrastructure protection. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in networking and cybersecurity principles, is comfortable working with DoD security tools, and can troubleshoot and resolve security issues while helping improve the organization’s overall security posture. The pay for this role ranges from $45-$46/hour, based on experience.

Required Skills & Experience
•Active Secret Clearance (interim Top Secret)
•Active IAT Level II certification
•2+ years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity, systems security, or network security; vulnerability scanning and security/risk assessments (ACAS, HBSS, or similar tools)
•Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, directory services)
•Experience analyzing security findings and identifying risk trends or system weaknesses
•Familiarity with system, network, and OS hardening practices
•Exposure to IDS/IPS (Intrusion Detection System/Intrusion Prevention System) or other threat detection tools
•Ability to troubleshoot and resolve security or infrastructure issues
•Understanding of core security principles (confidentiality, integrity, availability, authentication)
•Experience supporting access control, managing VPNs, and network protection measures
•Working knowledge of Windows and/or Linux environments
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
•Understanding transition records (Infrared Networking, Wireless Fidelity, Radio Frequency Identification)
