The Cloud Architect will provide capabilities to support the customer with rapid design, development, test, deployment, maintenance and operation of specific software and hardware capabilities to meet current Cyber Defensive needs.
Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
Apply principals of automation, repeatability, and maintainability in infrastructure provisioning and application deployment using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) frameworks (e.g., Bicep, ARM, Terraform, PowerShell)
Architect, deploy, and manage secure scalable Azure cloud solutions (networking, security, identity management, data governance, automation, VMs, storage) in customers environment
Build and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines for tradition and Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML)- based applications, ensuring secure code integration and delivery
Continuously evaluate and maintain technical knowledge of emerging cloud technologies, AI/ML frameworks, security trends, and DevSecOps best practices to drive innovation and enhance cloud strategy and operational effectiveness
Design and build components encompassing network, security, identity, governance, development, and operations in Customer's environments.
Design and support machine learning operations (MLOps) pipelines for model training, versioning, deployment, and monitoring
Design disaster recovery and high availability architectures including backups, failovers, and replication
Develop proof-of-concept prototypes using automation for repeatability, maintainability, and to enforce standards, cyber security, and program safety.
Develop proof-of-concept solutions using modern cloud-native tools to validate architectural decisions and test new technologies
Establish and enforce cloud and security standards for alignment with the architecture, compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST 800-53, FedRamp) and Zero Trust principals
Establish best practices for resource scaling, cost monitoring, and cloud performance optimizations
Integrate advanced cybersecurity measures such as identity and access management (IAM), encryption, vulnerability scanning, and audit logging into infrastructure and workload
Maintain comprehensive documentation on cloud architecture, automation processes, operational procedures, etc.
Monitor cloud resources and application performance using cloud monitoring tools
Operationalize solutions from proof-of-concept through production using automation for repeatability, maintainability, and to enforce standards beginning with automated testing progressing through the Dev/Ops pipeline to automated deployment.
Provide insight into and knowledge of the latest virtualized and cloud, technology, solutions, industry trends, and best practices.
Recommend and if approved use emerging tools and methodologies to automate existing processes and design new virtualized and cloud-based infrastructures based on infrastructure as code mindset; script and deploy infrastructure components.
