Insight Global is seeking a GIS Director to join one of our top electric clients. The work authorization is not specified and the salary ranges from $100,000-$150,000. The Substation Engineer is responsible for reviewing designed projects to include checking onelines, schematics, detailed wiring drawings and P&C drawings to provide QA/QC for projects that have been designed by contracted Engineering firms. It will also prepare engineering and design in-house for the construction of new as well as upgrades of existing substations.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct engineering design reviews for contracted substation projects and perform QA/QC on checklists, one lines, schematics, detail wiring diagrams, and nameplates.
Work with outside engineering firms, consultants, vendors and equipment manufacturers.
Create standard substation engineering designs to include the design of steel structures, foundations, clearances, layout drawings, grounding, oil containment, lightning protection, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
Evaluate equipment ratings, requirements, and project schedules to facilitate the accurate ordering of equipment to support project in service dates.
Prepare bills-of-material for the development of material lists to support standard designs.
Prepare accurate project cost estimates.
Provide engineering support to employees to assist in their learning of standards, procedures, designs, and specifications.
Analyze engineering, construction, and maintenance feedback related to standard designs, equipment, etc., and developing appropriate solutions and alternate design options as needed.

Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology
PE license
10 years of experience in a power related engineering field with an emphasis on substation design.
Experience with helping to design and build substations
Datacenter experience
