Job Description
Insight Global is seeking an experienced Secret Software Architect to support a federal client in Chesapeake, VA. Their day to day will include but is not limited to:
-Architect & Define Systems: Establish the technical vision, architecture, and standards for scalable enterprise software solutions.
-Drive Technology Strategy: Assess and select tools, frameworks, and methodologies that balance performance, scalability, cost-efficiency, and maintainability.
-Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure technical solutions align with business goals.
-Ensure Technical Excellence: Review designs, codebases, and deployments to uphold architectural integrity and best practices.
-Solve High-Level Challenges: Address complex technical problems, design integration strategies, and develop proof-of-concepts for innovative solutions.
-Mentor Engineering Teams: Provide guidance, share best practices, and support the professional growth of developers.
-Champion TDD: Advocate for and enforce Test-Driven Development across teams to maintain high-quality, reliable code.

Required Skills & Experience
-Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience in software development/architecture, or 8+ years of equivalent experience.
-Demonstrated success as a software architect or senior engineer designing complex systems.
-Deep expertise in Test-Driven Development (TDD) and the ability to lead its adoption across development teams.
-Strong proficiency in web technologies including Angular, AngularJS, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, SCSS, Java, Spring, XML, JSP, and AJAX.
-Solid grasp of software design patterns, architectural principles, and system integration strategies.
-Familiarity with containerization, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
-Excellent communication skills to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.
-Eligibility to obtain and maintain a DOD Security Clearance.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
-Experience with cloud-native architectures and distributed systems.
-Working knowledge of React, TypeScript, SQL, and C++.
-Background in Agile development environments.
