As a Material Planner, your responsibilities include developing Job Material Lists (JML) to meet material requirements for Task Group Instructions (TGI) and new work quotes. You will interface with vendors for material pricing, identify non-consumable materials for ship installations, and use the ATIS software for JML development. Your role involves preparing and reviewing technical materials for publication, completing Material Planner qualifications, and conducting research with subject matter experts. You will interpret blueprints and specifications to determine material needs, maintain a master database and scheduling software, and collaborate with Planners to ensure all material requirements are met. Additionally, you will attend project meetings, maintain an electronic master list of JMLs, and provide process improvement recommendations to the Material Planning Supervisor.

-Associates degree in an engineering discipline or High School/GED with an Apprenticeship Diploma and additional vocational courses in pipefitting, plumbing, or hydraulic systems.
-3-5 years (for level I) or 6+ years (for level II) of military or civilian experience with shipboard piping systems, including repair, modification, or installation in a repair department or shipyard.
-In-depth knowledge of shipboard piping systems (repair/installation practices, procedures, alignments, troubleshooting, etc.).
-Strong computer skills, including advanced MS Excel skills and working knowledge of MS Word and project management/scheduling software (e.g., MS Project, MPM).
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
-Experience with Haystack
