Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a City Traffic Engineer to oversee planning and design of traffic engineering improvements and installation and maintenance of traffic signals and control devices, and lead planning for all bicycle and pedestrian improvements. The traffic engineer reports to the City Engineer. Primarily and most frequently the work done here is performed as team leader with a defined functional area and more expertise and strategic focus. They will be responsible for communicating regularly with stake holders and members of the public and must be comfortable and equipped to do so.

Required Skills & Experience

- 3-5(+) years of experience in traffic engineering including knowledge of laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures related to roadway safety
-bachelors degree in civil engineering, transportation planning, or related field of study
- familiar with MUTCD, ADA/PROWAG compliance,

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- EIT, PE, or PTOE certification
- lives in or near Charlottesville, VA and can go onsite frequently
