Job Description
We are supporting a consulting engagement to migrate their existing Palo Alto firewall environment to Check Point. This is a hands-on, assessment-heavy role ideal for a senior-level engineer who can independently evaluate, design, and execute firewall migrations while providing thoughtful recommendations throughout the process.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the migration of Palo Alto firewall environments to Check Point
Assess existing Palo Alto configurations, rules, and policies
Rebuild and implement configurations within Check Point firewalls
Identify gaps, inconsistencies, or improvements during migration and provide recommendations
Partner with internal and client teams to validate design decisions and implementation approach
Support testing and validation of firewall configurations (including potential use of Maestro for testing/optimization)
Operate with a high level of autonomy—owning assessments, execution, and communication back to stakeholders

Required Skills & Experience
10+ years of experience in network and/or network security engineering
Strong hands-on experience with:
Palo Alto firewalls (configuration, policy management, troubleshooting)
Check Point firewalls (implementation, configuration, migration)
Proven experience performing firewall migrations or large-scale network security transformations
Ability to independently assess environments and make recommendations (not just lift-and-shift)
Strong understanding of firewall rule sets, segmentation, and overall network security architecture
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Experience with Check Point Maestro (highly preferred)
Background in financial services or other regulated environments
Experience supporting testing/validation frameworks around firewall implementations
