Job Description

Insight Global is hiring an Electrical Field Test Technician to support electrical power distribution testing and maintenance. This role involves fieldwork, troubleshooting, and commissioning across customer sites, with ~25% regional travel.
Key Responsibilities

Inspect, test, troubleshoot, and commission electrical power systems at client sites
Maintain and test low, medium, and high-voltage equipment (switchgear, breakers, transformers, cables, relays)
Perform start-up, calibration, and diagnostics for generators, transfer switches, and protection systems
Analyze test data and complete field service reports
Ensure compliance with safety standards (NFPA 70E, LOTO, hazard analyses)
Track project progress and communicate with internal teams and clients
(Level 3/4) Lead, mentor, and supervise junior technicians

Compensation:

$124,800/yr to $166,400/yr.

Required Skills & Experience

Requirements

10+ years of electrical testing experience
Experience with power distribution systems and troubleshooting
Familiarity with NETA standards and NFPA 70E
Ability to travel ~25%
Strong safety knowledge (LOTO, hazardous energy control)
Clean driving record

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Preferred

NETA Level III–IV, NICET, or equivalent certification
NERC experience
