Job Description

The Data Center QA/QC Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality infrastructure through rigorous quality assurance and commissioning practices. This position leads the implementation of the project-specific quality and commissioning plan, driving excellence from project initiation through final turnover. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, results-driven, and passionate about powering and securing mission-critical facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
Quality Assurance & Control
Develop, implement, and manage the project-specific Quality Control Plan.
Lead the 3-Phase Quality Control process: preparatory, initial, and follow-up inspections.
Conduct inspections of electrical installations per NEC, NFPA, IEEE, and project specifications.
Document inspections, test results, and non-conformance reports (NCRs).
Manage discrepancy notices, corrective actions, and preventive actions (CAPA).
Oversee receipt inspections of all procured materials.
Create and maintain detailed installation checklists and inspection logs.
Coordinate with third-party testing agencies and implement recommendations.
Support internal audits and ensure compliance with contract documents and specifications.

Commissioning & Startup
Assist in developing and executing commissioning plans and startup documentation (MOPs, SBSs).
Coordinate and supervise testing and startup activities.
Ensure only approved equipment and materials are installed.
Provide final quality documentation turnover packages.

Project Management & Coordination
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and field teams.
Attend and contribute to daily Operational Risk Management (ORM) and safety meetings.
Participate in Owner/Architect/Contractor meetings and resolve quality issues.
Track project performance and provide feedback to regional QA/Cx leadership.
Support scheduling of quality, vendor, and commissioning activities to meet milestones.

Compliance & Safety
Ensure adherence to safety protocols including LOTO and arc flash.
Represent the organization as a safety leader onsite.
Conduct safety audits and participate in incident investigations.

rate is between 45-90/hr

Required Skills & Experience

- Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of construction experience
- 7+ years of experience in QA/QC in roles such as QAQC Manager, Project Manager, or Superintendent at a Data Center
- Proficiency in Procore, Microsoft Project, and Primavera P6 for scheduling and tracking.
- CxAlloy, Facility Grid, or Bluebeam for managing commissioning workflows and documentation.
- Quality Management Systems (QMS): Experience with ISO 9001 standards and integration of QMS across disciplines.
- Building Automation Systems (BAS): Understanding of systems such as Honeywell, Siemens, or Johnson Controls for monitoring and control.
- Use of tools like Fluke meters, infrared cameras, and power quality analyzers for inspections and diagnostics.
- Data Center Infrastructure Monitoring (DCIM): Exposure to platforms like Schneider Electric EcoStruxure, Vertiv Trellis, or Sunbird DCIM.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings/blueprints and specifications.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
- Safety & Compliance Tools: Familiarity with OSHA 30, NFPA 70E, or Arc Flash Analysis software.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience with USACE/NAVFAC 3-Phase Quality Control System.
OSHA 30
LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP).
Certified Commissioning Professional (CCP) or ASHRAE Commissioning Process Management Professional (CPMP).
Experience on military bases or government contracts.
