Job Description

• Assist Cloud Architects to provide operations and migration services that enable Federal agency to tailor the availability and delivery of cloud computing services based on business and technical requirements.
• Utilize the future VA Enterprise Cloud Operational Tools (VAECOT), CSP native portals and tools, and/or other VA TRM-approved tools necessary to provide operations and migration support
• Utilize automation tool such as Terraform, Ansible, or similar.
• Assist with upgrading, installing, and configure monitoring solution for AWS and/or Azure Linux servers.
• Maintain gold images/scripts.
• Assisting with reporting on current infrastructure status, and planning for future usage.

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline OR AWS/Azure Certification (AWS Professional / Specialty Cert. OR Azure Expert / Advanced Cert.) OR 4 years of relevant experience in one of the VAECOT suite of tools (Science Logic, Dynatrace, Turbot, AppDynamics).
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in leading technical teams to achieve objectives and outcomes. Experience includes:
o Developing and implementing technical standards, systems and processes for cloud and on-prem environments.
o Recommending technology strategies and decisions with a high-level of expertise and knowledge.
o Providing technical direction and support to ensure compliance with standards and guidelines.
• Minimum of six (6) years setting up, configuring and using Azure cloud operational tools to ensure service level agreements and performance targets are met, and continued compliance with policies, standards and guidelines. Experience includes:
o Analyzing and evaluating system requirements
o Designing and deploying cloud computing capabilities.
o Operating and maintaining cloud and on-prem environments to ensure service level agreements are satisfied and continued compliance.
o Migrating and implementing systems and applications in cloud environments for multiple cloud service providers such as AWS and Azure.
o Implementing cloud operational tools to operate, maintain, and optimize cloud environments.
o Full systems lifecycle experience from intake through sustainment.
• Should have subject matter expertise with either VAEC Cloud Service Providers, Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Able to pass a background check to obtain a Public Trust (High-Risk) Position

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Previous Federal Government experience
• Experience designing and developing Azure computing infrastructure, data implementation, networking implementation, security and identity solutions, and solutions by using Azure platform services
• Azure PowerShell or similar scripting experience
• Experience implementing and managing DevOps pipelines for cloud-based workloads
• Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) experience
• Ability to work on a team as well as independently to achieve team goals
• Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in communications and documentation.
• Experience with compliance standards (e.g. NIST, CIS, DISA, FISMA)
• Active clearance for Public Trust (Low-Risk) Position
• Experience working in a CMMI-DEV or CMMI-SVC environment at Maturity Level 3 or above
