Job Description
We are looking to bring a AI SME/ Consultant to our team to support Federal clients in leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) to drive mission outcomes This role is ideal for a professional who combines functional, strategic, and technical fluency to help agencies identify, prioritize, and operationalize AI use cases. The AI SME will serve as a translator between emerging AI technologies and government mission needs, helping leaders navigate adoption, governance, risk, and value realization. This position is fully remote, but we do need the person to be available on east coast time.
Day to Day:
• Advise Federal clients on enterprise AI strategy, roadmap development, and capability maturity
• Evaluate vendor solutions, tools, and platforms for Federal environments
• Identify and prioritize mission-aligned AI use cases (e.g., automation, decision support, citizen services)
• Support development of AI investment cases, business value frameworks, and implementation plans
• Provide guidance on Responsible AI (RAI), governance, and compliance with Federal policies (e.g., OMB, NIST AI RMF)
• Develop concepts of operations (CONOPS), user stories, and functional requirements
• Serve as a trusted advisor to stakeholders
• Facilitate workshops, design thinking sessions, and AI ideation sessions
• Drive organizational change management and adoption strategies for AI initiatives
• Support delivery of AI-enabled transformation programs across Federal agencies
• Coordinate across data science, engineering, and business teams
• Ensure alignment of AI solutions with IT modernization, cloud, and data strategies

Required Skills & Experience
Must Have:
• Bachelors degree
• 8+ years of professional technology experience , preferably in a consulting role, with recent demonstrated experience in AI, advanced analytics, or automation initiatives (strategy, advisory, or implementation)
• Experience supporting the federal government
• Ability to obtain and/or maintain a Public Trust or security clearance
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Preferred Qualifications
• Active TSA public trust or experience supporting TSA within the last year
• Strong understanding of Federal operating environment, acquisition, and compliance requirements
