Job Description

This individual will serve as the primary liaison between Teal and its suppliers, ensuring product quality, process compliance, and supplier performance standards are consistently met.
The Supplier Quality Engineer will work closely with Manufacturing, Quality Inspection, Supply Chain, Purchasing, and Engineering teams to identify supplier-related quality issues, communicate findings to vendors, and drive root cause corrective actions. This position plays a critical role in supplier qualification, first article inspection review, supplier performance management, and continuous improvement initiatives. They will partner with production and inspection teams to identify supplier-related defects and non-conformances, investigate supplier quality issues and drive Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) activities, communicate quality concerns, corrective actions, and performance expectations directly with suppliers. They will also review and approve First Article Inspections (FAIs) to ensure compliance with engineering and quality requirements, support supplier qualification, onboarding, and ongoing performance evaluation, track supplier quality metrics and identify continuous improvement opportunities, and conduct supplier audits and assessments as needed. From an internal perspective they will collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain, and Purchasing teams.

Required Skills & Experience

3+ years of experience in Supplier Quality Engineering, Quality Engineering, Supplier Development, or Quality Inspection within a manufacturing environment
Experience managing supplier-related non-conformances and corrective actions
Strong knowledge of Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA), CAPA, 8D, 5 Why, or similar methodologies
Experience working within AS9100-regulated aerospace or defense environments
Understanding of First Article Inspection (FAI) processes and requirements
Experience working directly with suppliers and vendors to resolve quality concerns
Familiarity with quality systems, auditing processes, and supplier performance metrics
Comfortable working cross-functionally with manufacturing, engineering, quality, and supply chain teams
Ability to travel up to 30%

ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
Six Sigma Green Belt
Six Sigma Black Belt
Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)
Experience supporting printed circuit boards (PCBAs) and electronic component suppliers
Electronics manufacturing experience
Supplier audit experience
Experience with aerospace, defense, unmanned systems, or high-reliability products
Familiarity with IPC standards
Experience reviewing engineering drawings and specifications
