Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Senior VMware / Linux Engineer to join the Unix/Compute team for one of the world largest financial institutions to support a VMware stack refresh for one of the firm’s customers. This individual will need to be honest, wanting to learn, and a great team player and counterpart to the other members of the Compute team. The team is willing to train up this person. This person will be joining a focused, two-person team, whose goal is to monitor, support and improve the environment once the refresh the current VMware stack (ESX) for a small yet critical environment for the firm is completed. The current stack is utilizing vSphere to manage their products and are connected to Block Storage threw vSAN (Dell emc storage). This person will be reporting into a technical lead and supervisor who has the needed experience of working with vendors since this project is operating as a managed service. Environment and process improvement through automation or other means will be the primary focus of this team.
Compensation:
$33.46/hr to $44.89/hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Required Skills & Experience
• Strong Linux environment experience.
• Hands on experience with Red Hat Linux operating systems (RHEL)
• Experience with VMWare virtualization and deployment for remote environments.
• Ability to maintain and support VMware vSphere virtualization infrastructures, including ESXi hosts (6.5+), vCenter Server, and most importantly vSAN.
• Experience with utilizing block storages like vSAN.
• Has a desire to improve environment efficiency.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, computer programming, or similar.
• Worked with storage products like Dell, EMC, or Hitachi
• Experience with containerization tech (Kubernetes, etc.)
• Virtualization tech experience with tools like
• Kernel-Based Virtual Machines (KVM)
• Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization (container-native virtualization)
• VMWare Certified Professional (VCP)
• VMWare Certified Design Expert (VCDX)
