Job Description

Job Summary:
The IT Asset Coordinator is responsible for managing and maintaining inventory of IT equipment and peripherals in the stockroom. This role ensures accurate tracking, storage, and distribution of IT assets across the organization. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a basic understanding of IT hardware.

Key Responsibilities:
• Receive, inspect, and document incoming IT assets (e.g., laptops, monitors, peripherals).
• Maintain accurate records of assets using inventory management systems.
• Organize and manage the IT stockroom, ensuring assets are labeled, stored, and secured properly.
• Prepare and stage IT hardware for deployment to end users and new hires.
• Handle equipment returns, warranty replacements, and asset retirements.
• Support audits and reconciliation of asset records against physical inventory.
• Coordinate with IT staff to fulfill asset requests and deployments.
• Ensure proper disposal or recycling of obsolete or damaged equipment in accordance with policy.
• Track hardware lifecycle statuses and flag equipment due for replacement.
• Maintain compliance with company policies, procedures, and licensing requirements.

Required Skills & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or certification in IT or inventory management preferred.
• 1–2 years of experience in IT asset management, stockroom operations, or related fields.
• Familiarity with IT hardware such as laptops, desktops, monitors, docking stations, and accessories.
• Proficiency with inventory tracking tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Excel, or asset management systems).
• Ability to lift and move items up to 50 lbs.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and communicate clearly with team members.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Experience with ITIL practices or IT asset lifecycle management.
• Knowledge of shipping, receiving, and basic logistics.
