Job Description
The Project Engineer is responsible for driving the technical execution of aerospace and defense manufacturing programs by coordinating across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and test teams. On a day to day basis, this role serves as a key technical point of contact, ensuring engineering activities remain aligned with program requirements, manufacturing constraints, and delivery schedules. The Project Engineer supports design reviews, test planning, and verification activities, while identifying and mitigating technical and programmatic risks. This position works closely with the Chief Engineer and program leadership to resolve technical challenges, support production and test issues, and ensure engineering decisions are executed effectively on the factory floor. The role also contributes to technical documentation, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives to support reliable, on time delivery of mission critical space and defense hardware.
Salary: $95,000 - $125,000

Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical discipline
5+ years of experience in aerospace, defense, or advanced manufacturing engineering
Experience supporting manufacturing programs, including coordination with production, supply chain, and test teams
Strong understanding of engineering design, manufacturing processes, and test/verification activities
Demonstrated ability to own technical execution across cross functional teams
Experience identifying, tracking, and mitigating technical and programmatic risks
Ability to review and support design reviews, test planning, and technical documentation
Strong communication skills with the ability to interface with engineering leadership, program management, and operations
Self directed, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Master’s degree in Engineering or related technical field
Experience supporting propulsion systems, energetics, missile, hypersonic, or space hardware
Background in defense manufacturing or DoD programs
Experience working closely with Chief Engineers or Technical Leads
Familiarity with risk management, configuration control, and change management
Experience supporting qualification testing, verification, and production readiness
Prior exposure to program execution or project engineering leadership roles
