Job Description
Insight Global is looking for a Project Controls Manager in the Woodlands, Tx. This role operates within a centralized governance and oversight function, serving as an independent assessor across large-scale capital projects ($30M+). The role is responsible for conducting detailed evaluations between key stage gates (primarily mid-to-late project phases), assessing cost, schedule, risk, progress, and overall project readiness. This individual will synthesize findings into structured, executive-level reports and presentations, providing clear insights to senior leadership. The position requires the ability to quickly ramp up on new projects, perform end-to-end analysis, and deliver high-quality written assessments within tight timelines. It is a highly visible, primarily office-based role with ownership over a portfolio of projects spanning multiple business units, requiring strong technical writing, data analysis, and communication skills.

Required Skills & Experience
10+ years of well-rounded project controls or project management experience (cost, schedule, risk, earned value, progress tracking, and risk management)
Experience in power generation or power delivery (transmission and distribution or nuclear)
Experience with Monte Carlo/risk simulation tools and strong in Primavera P6
Highly experienced in the stage gate process and stage gate assessments, taking projects cradle to grave
Ability to analyze projects holistically (not just one discipline)
Strong technical writing skills and creating executive-level reports and presentations (core function of the role — frequent report generation)
Comfortable working in a high-visibility, fast-paced reporting environment (tight turnaround timelines)
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Experience working on project over $700 million (singular project value not portfolio of projects)
Highly skilled in Microsoft Excel
Power BI experience
Experience utilizing AI
