Job Description

A midstream energy provider is hiring an Automation Engineer to provide I&E and automation engineering support for midstream engineering and operations efforts. The Automation Engineer will support and manage the automation lab and is responsible for providing engineering support within the design, construction, and commissioning phases of midstream facilities. Other responsibilities include providing technical support for control system design with hardware, panel design, software, and HMI layout, the development of standard practices relating to the instrumentation for the controls and monitoring of midstream facilities and managing 3rd party contractors in the implementation of project execution associated with I&E and control systems. The Automation Engineer's main responsibility is to support operations in upgrades and modifications to existing facilities - this could include reviewing engineering packages, receiving and reporting testing results, and maintaining communication with 3rd party vendors. This role is hybrid (3 days in the office), and it will require travel up to 25% with some overnight stays.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelors Degree in Engineering, preferably in Chemical or Electrical Engineering



3+ years of experience in the design, implementation, and optimization of control systems within midstream processing facilities



Experience with Allen Bradley (SLC, CLX) PLCs & Emerson Delta V DCS



Fundamental understanding of a facility's natural gas processing and process control



Experience determining and performing instrumentation tests needed for analysis



Experience working with field personal in plants or compressor stations and communicating with them when resolving any issues at the facility

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Ignition Software experience



Project Management experience, specifically managing 3rd party contractors
