Description:
Insight Global is seeking an R&D Sourcing Specialist. This individual will play a critical role in supporting research and development initiatives by leading strategic sourcing efforts from early concept through prototype validation. The ideal candidate will partner closely with engineers, evaluate and develop suppliers, negotiate contracts, and ensure materials and components meet cost, quality, and innovation standards.
Must‑Haves:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field
• 5+ years of procurement or sourcing experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment
• Strong understanding of engineering materials, components, manufacturing processes, and R&D technical language
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
• Experience leading sourcing projects from concept through prototype validation
• Proven supplier evaluation, negotiation, and contract management experience
• Ability to analyze supplier performance and optimize cost and quality
• Understanding of Supply Chain concepts and language
• Willingness to travel nationally and internationally up to 20–30%

Required Skills & Experience
Responsibilities:
• Lead strategic sourcing initiatives from early concept through prototype validation
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers aligned to technical and quality needs
• Partner closely with R&D engineers and scientists to align sourcing strategy with design requirements
• Negotiate pricing, contracts, and supplier agreements
• Monitor market trends to uncover innovative sourcing opportunities
• Drive cost optimization while maintaining quality and compliance standards
• Manage supplier risk and ensure adherence to regulatory and ethical requirements
Travel to domestic and international Munters locations and supplier sites as needed
