Job Description
This role is responsible for supporting end‑to‑end procurement of IT hardware and software, including sourcing coordination, purchase order processing, and invoice tracking. The Buyer II supports system‑wide hardware purchases from major manufacturers and assists with enterprise software renewals and licensing coordination.
The position ensures compliance with state procurement laws, internal policies, and audit requirements while working within established e‑procurement and ticketing systems. Strong collaboration with vendors, internal stakeholders, and finance teams is required to resolve issues and support timely payments. This role is best suited for a junior level procurement professional with working knowledge of IT purchasing

Required Skills & Experience
Knowledge of purchasing and procurement methods and procedures, applicable
federal, state, procurement statues, rules, policies, legislation, regulations and
guidelines, accounting principles and procedures; e-procurement programs
including security access, software programs, contract review, marketing and
training.
Knowledge of standard specifications for hardware; standard software used on
campus; network equipment and telephone equipment.
Understanding of maintenance and services for hardware and software.
Knowledge of work order ticketing system.
Skilled in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data from various sources to
derive insights and inform decision making, IT products and services, including
hardware and software
Ability to review and understand rules, regulations, policies, procedures,
contracts, documents, manuals, perform arithmetical computations and statistical
analysis, prepare reports, communicate effectively; evaluate bids, develop
methods and procedures for locating supply sources; maintain a system of record
keeping.
