Job Description

This TS/SCI System Integration Engineer is responsible for the architecture, integration, and continuous technical evolution of a large-scale cloud based platform built on Kubernetes and modern DevSecOps practices. They will be responsible for the following but are not limited to:
- Provide senior technical leadership for the architecture, design, and continuous evolution of a large scale cloud based platform, including its AWS hosted development and operational infrastructure.
- Lead systems engineering efforts for Kubernetes environments, ensuring effective design, management, and lifecycle maintenance of containerized workloads orchestrated through Helm.
- Implement DevSecOps practices across the platform, guiding secure CI/CD pipeline development, automated testing, vulnerability scanning, and secure software supply chain processes.
- Architect and oversee AWS cloud infrastructure services including networking, compute, storage, identity, and security to ensure performance, cost efficiency, resilience, and compliance with required security standards.
- Serve as a senior technical advisor within the PMO, informing platform roadmaps, evaluating architectural tradeoffs, and ensuring proposed changes align with mission, security, and compliance requirements.
- Support compliance activities, audits, and technical reviews to ensure platform readiness and adherence to established security and operational frameworks.
- Coordinate integration efforts across engineering, security, cloud, and operational teams, ensuring new capabilities, tools, and services are successfully onboarded into the platform ecosystem.
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively to PMO leadership, technical teams, and non technical stakeholders to support informed decision making.

Required Skills & Experience

- Active TS/SCI security clearance
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field; a master’s degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 14 years of combined experience in systems engineering, cloud architecture, platform engineering, DevSecOps, or related technical leadership roles.
- Extensive experience designing, deploying, and maintaining Kubernetes based platforms, including Helm managed workloads and container lifecycle management.
- Strong background in cloud engineering, including networking, compute, storage, identity, and security services within major cloud providers.
- Demonstrated expertise implementing or guiding DevSecOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, vulnerability scanning, and secure software supply chain processes.
- Proven ability to support or advise a Program Management Office, including translating mission or program requirements into actionable technical plans and architectural decisions.
- Experience supporting compliance, audits, or security frameworks associated with enterprise platforms or cloud environments.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to PMO leadership, engineering teams, and non technical stakeholders.
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., Security+, CISSP, Kubernetes certifications, cloud certifications).
