Job Description

- Provide mechanical engineering support to a nuclear surety-focused program, ensuring system designs meet mission, safety, and compliance requirements
- Develop, modify, and maintain 3D models and technical drawings using SolidWorks to support system design, integration, and sustainment efforts
- Support the design and analysis of mechanical components, assemblies, and systems utilized in secure, high-reliability environments
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, program management, and operations) to translate requirements into effective and compliant design solutions
- Assist in the evaluation of existing systems and components, identifying opportunities for improvement, modernization, or risk mitigation
- Generate and review engineering documentation, including drawings, specifications, and technical reports to support configuration management and program deliverables
- Ensure designs adhere to nuclear surety, safety, and mission assurance standards, including applicable DoD and Air Force guidelines
- Participate in testing, validation, and troubleshooting activities to verify mechanical system performance and reliability
- Support configuration control processes, including change management, versioning, and documentation updates
- Communicate technical findings, risks, and recommendations to engineering leadership and program stakeholders
- Contribute to program execution by supporting timelines, deliverables, and coordination across engineering and PMO teams

Required Skills & Experience

- Active TS/SCI Clearance
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering or related field
- Experience with in modeling and simulation utilizing SolidWorks
- Experience with the integration of hardware with software solutions
- Experience utilizing 3D scanning and printing technologies

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Experience supporting nuclear surety programs, nuclear command, control, and communications (NC3), or other high-reliability DoD mission environments
- Familiarity with nuclear surety compliance, inspection frameworks, and mission assurance requirements within Air Force or broader DoD programs
